How can I get normal.dot to hold regular page margins?

The top margin is at least 2" down the page. When I reset the margins and
click default, the new margins are not saved.

Open Normal.dot directly and adjust the margins in that manner. See
http://word.mvps.org/faqs/apperrors/BlankDocNotBlank.htm for more
clarification on how to open the normal.dot template.

As to why it's not working for you to click the Default button - do you also
have Outlook and do you use Word as your Email Editor? If you do, that
could be conflicting. Another conflict can be Add-in's keep changing it
back.
