how can I get outlook 2000 to accept hotmail?

I've finally started using outlook 2000 for my e-mails. I can't get it to
accept hotmail. It accepts all my other e-mail programs just not hotmail. Can
anyone give me the settings I must use to make this happen or must I buy a
newer verison of outlook. Thanks.

Unless you have had the hotmail account for several years and are
grandfathered, you will need the paid version of hotmail for pop3 use.

See:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/234704/

"Microsoft Outlook, unlike Microsoft Outlook Express, does not have an
option to use Microsoft Hotmail e-mail accounts. The "Resolution" section
provides a work around to access a Hotmail account."

Outlook 2000 does not have the ability to add Hotmail accounts. Outlook 2002 (XP) was the first version to include http accounts.
