How can I import a video from the web into a powerpoint presentation?

Erinn

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to import a
video clip from a website into a powerpoint presentation.
One of my students would like to do this for a school
assignment. Our school computers are networked and have
some restrictions. We are using Powerpoint 2000.

Thanks!

First
Obtain permission from the copyright owner to download the
file. If you are using the file in a non domestic setting
and dont have permission, you will be breaking the law.
All web content is owned by someone. The owner will allow
viewing from the web but not for re-distribution.

Does Napster ring any bells ?

Second
Most web sites are set up to view video, not to save it.

Some video files are saved in a tempory folder before
being played back so you could find it there.

Try right clicking on the file and if there is an option
to save to disc use that.

The last way is to use a capture programme that will save
the video as a separate file.
