How can I insert a checkmark box in outlook

I would like to be able to add a check mark box in a appointment, task
or other item in Outlook.

That's interesting. If you have a question about how to do that, you'll
need to tell us where you are getting stuck in the process and some absolute
basics like what version of Outlook you are using.

I'm using outlook 2003 and I have figured out how to insert a checkmark
box in a email message by adding the form buttons to the toolbar,
however I can not check the box to add the form buttons to the toolbar
in appointments, tasks or journal items.
