How can I insert an image onto an image w/out using a text box?

Is it possible to insert an image onto another image without using a text box
or is it possible to hide the lines of a text box?

Yes to both.
Insert a picture and use the text wrapping tool and choose something like
"behind text". Repeat for second picture and drag it over the first one. Is
thaat what you meant?
Use Line color No line to eliminate hte line from the test box
