How can I insert the symbol for square feet?

I have been unable to find the symbol that designates that a number indicates
“square feetâ€. For example: The office comprises approximately 5,000 . . .
and then the symbol for square feet. I know how to draw it. (It’s a box
with a forward slash through it.) Is it available in MS Office Word and if
so where is it?

I don't see it in the list of insertable symbols.

One suggestion-find a picture of the square feet symbol, shrink it down to
the size of your text and format it as inline with text. It's kind of a
messy solution, but it's what I've done before. Or you could find and
install a font that has that symbol in it.

Thanks for that, Klaus. I did look for it in Arial Unicode MS (though not
exhaustively) without finding it.
