I have read through the old discussions along this subject, but require some
other alternative to complete this. I need a button along with a text box
field where, if i click the button, it will open the 'open file' dialogue
box, so i will be able to search for whatever type of file i need to link to
an employee's record. i would then like the text box field to display that
file name/path name. and also be able to link several documents to each
employee.
i have created another table which i plan to create a one-to-many
realtionship with my main employee table linking them via the unique employee
ID number. I then understand that i will be required to create a subform in
my main form where i can have the displayed links. one post mentioned
creating a 'continous form'. That sounds about what i need, but i am unsure
of just what that is exaclty, or how to do it.
so:
1. how do i create a button to link files (i am not a VB guru, unfortunately)
2. how do i create a text box to display each link?
3. how do i create a continuous form?
