How can I make a gym weight selector in Office?

Lets say I have the following weight plates for my home gym:

4x 10 kg
6x 2 kg
8x 1kg
2x 20 kg

I need a template that uses the data above to tell me how many of each I
need to get to my required weight.

So for example, I need a total weight of 6 kg, which is 3 kg on each side of
the bar. I will specify that I need 6 kg in total, and the template should
use the data above to provide me with the plates I'll need on each side. The
answer will have to be symmetrical for each side of the bar.

So if I need 6 kg in total, it would give me an answer like: 1x 2kg, 1x 1kg
on side 1, and 1x 2kg, 1x 1kg on side 2.

It has to acknowledge that I only have those many weight available, and each
side of the bar must be the same weights. If it can't get an answer, it must
find the nearest available symmetrical answer.

I'm really struggling to get this made and all ideas will be appreciated. I
am happy to use any Microsoft Office software to make this but I have no
idea how to make this. I have Office 2007.

I guess you have two options:

1) Static Template: a table layout that lists the weights from lowest to
highest on the left and the weight-plate increments across the top. Then for
each weight, there would be a number under the weight plate columns
indicating how many of each is required. For example, for 135lbs, there would
be a "2" in the "45lb" column (assuming the bar weighs 45lbs).

2) Dynamic Template: If you will be using a computer to plan your workout or
during your workout, you can create a template using "if" or "lookup"
functions. There could be a input box or drop down menu listing available
weights, and the spreadsheet would generate the best combination of weight
plates based on the amount selected. However, the basis for this template
would likely be a table similar to the one described in #1 above, so it might
be easier to just stop there.

Other users might have other (simpler) alternatives, but these are the ones
that came to mind for me because I've considered developing a similar
template for myself to speed up my workouts.
