How can I make smooth transitions in sound files?

I have music inserted in my Power Point presentation. I time the music to
number of slides, but I can't get the music to fade or get a smooth
transition from one song to the next.

You will have to use a sound editing software to do that. Then reinstert the
music into your PPT presentation.
