how can I merge multipart email sent by outlook 2000 in outlook 2003

as the title described, my companion sent me some multipart emails from
outlook 2000, however, I don't know how to deal with these mails, I can't
save the attachments, nor can do anything like merge, what should I do now,
is outlook 2003 not compatible with outlook 2000 in this feature.
