How can I move pictures and other introduced graphic around the p.

C

CAN'T MOVE!!

Everywhere I look it says clearly I can drag and drop objects aroond the Word
page using the left mouse button. When I try I get a tiny page symbol next to
the mouse pointer but nothing moves. The only thing I can do when a picture
is selected is enlarge it by using the "handles" on the selection box. Mostly
I am trying to move sections of newspaper text grabbed and pasted as a
graphic file (I hope thats what they are) from a pdf. search site. I would
also like to split up these graphics and move them around independently on
the page but that woud be icing on the cake. I know this must be something
very simple but I can seem to find the answer and I'm running out of "Idiot"
books!! Many thanks if you can help.....

If the graphics are inserted in-line then they behave like large font
characters. If they are inserted (or the layout property changed) as one of
the other insertion options the graphics float and can be dragged around.

Click on the picture to display the Picture toolbar. Then click on the Text
Wrapping button (dog icon) and choose some wrapping style other than "In
Line With Text" from the menu.
