From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeworks_Publisher we learn that
Timeworks publish is a Desktop publishing package produced by GST (United
Kingdom).

From
http://www.absoluteastronomy.com/encyclopedia/d/de/desktop_publishing.htm we
learn that

Timeworks publish was introduced in 1986.

Because the file was created with a desktop publishing program, it will only
open in another desktop publishing program that has a filter for Timeworks.
Given that we are talking about an ancient UK product, you are highly
unlikely to find a current desktop publishing program that will open it.

To open a TimeWorks file you need TimeWorks installed, simple as that.

TimeWorks is/was one of the first DTP packages, as such it doesn't conform
to current file standards; very good in it's day, but now somewhat dated.

It is not Timeworks that is outdated. It is Microsoft that has failed to make windows 11 compatible. I have hundreds of these DTP files and there are only two ways that I can open them. I built a 32 bit windows 10 system. It opens the DTP file. For that matter, it allows my Publish it 4.2 program to run without any problems. But, it will not work on a 64 bit computer and that is all you can get with Windows 11. Nice going Microsoft. Here is my suggestion: Use a 32 bit windows 10 computer (or earlier) and download the Publish it program. It is still available on line. I have it on a flash drive. Then open your DTP file in Publish it and print it using the print to PDF option. You can also just send the DTP file to any of the free on line PDF conversions companies. This works fine as long as you send them the file from your Windows 10 32-bit system. The conversion works perfectly and you can modify the resulting PDF in Windows 11 as long as you have the correct version of Acrobat installed. I know that sucks but we can all blame Microsoft. I have converted 30 DTP files so far and I have hundreds to go. Just be aware - there are currently no Windows 11 programs that will open the 32-bit DTP file. Windows 11 is only 64-bit. Don't be fooled by people saying they have a way to Install Windows 11 as a 32-bit OS. It just ain't so. Good luck.

Timeworks was purchased by SERIFF but they no longer support SERIFF Page 8 or 9. They are now called Affinity and there program suite will not open the DTF file. Believe me, I know the pain
