I'm trying to fill in the blanks on a certificate of completion. I scanned
the certificate to use as a template but i cant figure out how to setup a
blank template so i can just add the fields that i need without having to
print out the whole certificate. I tried entering text on the snanned image
then removing the backgound , but when i print it comes out in the wrong
place even after i assigned the correct size of paper that i have...help!

Unless you plan on using that document a lot, it's really not worth it. If
you do plan on using it often, then I'd suggest creating a form from
scratch.

I have done this with imaging programs like Photoshop or corel Draw

its easier that with word, although it is theoretically possible.

Your method is basically correct but word does not have the needed
precision.

That depends more on your printer than on Word...you can create a
couple of textboxes, put them in the corrrect place, and have the text
appear within a half-centimeter of where you'd expect to see it, in
most cases (some printers suck).

Use a text box in each place you need text to show up, and move it
around until it works, and you should be good to go.
