How can I recover a replaced word file?

I accidentially replaced my assignment with a newly typed document, my work
is gone!! System restore didnt work, what should I do??

Is there a backup file (*.wbk)? If not you're probably SOL.

My wife did something like this once. She inadvertently
typed control-A then hit space. Then she saved the file.
Then just to be sure it was gone forever she reopened the
file, did something, and saved it again.

She doesn't do this anymore.

Question to Group: Word used to have an option that allowed
double backups .wbk and .wb2. Has that been removed? I can't
seem to find it in Office XP's Word.
