how can I register XP standard that i installed on new computer

I bought a copy of XP standard for Teacher and Students a couple years ago.
I recently bought a new computer with XP Pro installed and installed the old
XP standard for Teachers and Students on an old laptop. When I try to
register the software I get a notice saying its already been registered,
which is true, but on a computer that has been replaced and is no longer
used. How do I register my software on this old laptop???

If you think that you received that message mistakenly, follow these steps:

1. Click OK when the message appears.
2. In the Office Activation Wizard dialog box, select Activate by using the telephone, and then click Next.
3. Click Next in the Microsoft Office Privacy Policy dialog box.
4. In the Activate your product by using the telephone dialog box, select your country or region in the list for step 1.
5. Dial the phone number that is displayed next to step 2.

A customer support representative will assist you with activating your copy of Office XP.

What I was Looking for was the phone number to call... as I have changed my
HD... and I must phone to activate it, but no-where does it say the phone
number!

You should be able to access the phone number from the activation dialog
(step 5 in Carey's instrux below). Basically, click the option to activate
on the phone, and the number should be displayed.

Or have you done that and it's not working?
