Salvo,
For the sound problem have a look here:
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00155.htm

As to the transition problem: did you put a transition time on all your
slides and more important did you instruct PowerPoint to use them? Check in
slide sorter view if there is a timing applied, it should be indicated in
the left corner of the thumbnail. If it is not there for all of your slides,
set a timing in the automatically after box and hit apply to all.
If that is not the problem check in Slide show - set up show - if the radio
button Use timings is well and truly active.

did you embed the sound?? If not you must include the sound file in the same
folder (best to zip it)

Thanks John No I didnt embed the sound (mp3) as I couldnt find out how to but
I see from your reply I cant it has to be a .wav file I will try that. I did
try putting sound file in same folder and zipping but when sending file
receipient had to use unzip extract save etc. I am looking for sending an
attachment one just clicks on and it opens and plays. Guess I keep trying
and searching

Thanks Luc yes the to all the transition suggestions and yes button use
timings is active but problem still is no auto start and have to click each
slide to change by receipient. As to sound I have visited site you suggested
downloaded a cdex converter but unfortunately this does not help me as the
files I have are not on cd but mp3 files in computer. Any further suggestions

Salvo,
Just save your presentation as a PowerPoint show (*.pps). In the save as
list in the save as dialog choose (*.pps). When doubleclicking the
attachment on your mail the show should start immediately.

Salvo,
You can change a mp3 file on your hard drive with CDex, just follow the
procedure that is mentioned in the link I provided. Check in Tools -
options - General tab - if Link sounds with file size greater than is set to
the maximum of 50000 Kb.
Once you wavyfied your mp3 put it in the same folder your presentation
resides in and then insert it again. Now your sound should be embedded when
you save the presentation.

perservering
