How can I send a Fax from XP question...

D

David Charles

Here is what I want to do:
Send a fax directly from Outlook to a FAX machine via the
Internet (i.e. without redialing).
I have XP pro or something and I have successfully set up
the MS fax program...but I want to use my existing
connection to the Internet to send the FAX NOT redail the
number.
I searched help and well...I thinkg it has something to
do with this info that I found but I have no idea where
to put this???[fax:+country/region_code space (area_code)
space fax_number]. For example "[fax:+1 (818) 5551111]".
Am I even close? Thanks for the help.

You seem not to realize that fax uses phone lines. Period. You can't fax
over the Internet.
If you want to fax over the internet you'll have to find a fee based
Internet Fax Service.

thanks for your reply. but I want you to know that since
I visited this site I have received over 20 virus ridden
emails with the "critical update" virus...so..you
answered my question but I will never go to a MS
newsgroup site again. I like MS and I am not going to
change my OS...but..PLEASE fill in the holes. I am sick
of the viruses. Even with the updates I can't afford to
work so hard just to keep that crap off my rig!
good luck. dave

Please don't imagine that we can do anything about it. Welcome to usenet. I
would advise against using a valid email address when you post and keeping
your antivirus software up to date.
