How can I set default fields for Risk section of PWA

Hi everyone

I utilize MS Project server 2003. I want to have 5 fields that every
project will have to use when they utilize the risk section in PWA. Does
anyone know how I set defaults for the risk section?

Thank you

In reseraching this I think I need to clarify a bit:

What I want to do is remove the Impact and Probability fields that current
show in the risk portion of PWA. I want to then resinsert them with a 1-5
value dropdown and add another column Detectioin locked in at 5. I hope this
will align our project and product risk a bit better.

The template columns would then be

Title
Assigned To
Status
Category
Due Date
owner
Probability
Impact
Detection
Cost
Description
Mitigation plan
Contingency plan
Trigger Description
Trigger
and then the same condition triggers

Hi Dale - always nice of you to help. In researching the site I ran across
this and did try to utilize it. The problem I ran into is that I cannot
delete Impact and Probability. And even when I left them in and changed
probability from percent and limited them 1-5 I could not change them to a
dropdown menu.

Is there hope here?
Thank you

I'm not a WSS expert, so take my advice with a grain of salt. Those two
fields are required fields by WSS. Beware of changing them as you are
doing. WSS multiples Probablility times Impact to calculate a number called
Exposure. If it were me, I wouldn't mess with those two fields in any way,
shape, or form. But that's just me. Hope this helps.

Hi Dale - that you wouldn't speaks volumes, since I consider you an expert.
I do see where the exposure field is calculating these fields. What I was
proposing was to change the calculation in the xposure field to
probability*impact*detection and rename the xposure field to what we want.

Do you think it would best to leave this to the individual PM to change for
their project rather than set it as a template then?
Also would you recommend hiding the probability and impact columns and then
creating 3 new ones?

If we decide to change the fields, what behavior have you seen that we could
perhaps expect to see if we do change prob. and/or impact and exposure fields?

Thank you as always for your assistance.

If the system allows you to hide the fields you don't want to do that, then
hide them. I can't even begin to speculate on the behavior you would see if
you change these fields. I'm a worry wart, so take my advice with a grain
of salt! :)
