How can I show tasks more than once?

G

Gary Furash

I'd like to show tasks more than once in the plan, but
have them stored only once. That is, have it show
multiple times in the project plan, but be treated by
project as one task (e.g., only considered once for
resource usage). For example, the task:

"Train Submittals Users in System, 3d"

should appear in the plan is:

1.1. System Rollout v3
1.1.1. Build System v2
1.1.1. "Train Submittals Users in System, 3d"
1.2. Training
1.2.1. Train Users in V2 of the system
1.1.2. "Train Submittals Users in System, 3d"

Where 1.1.1 and 1.1.2. are really THE SAME TASK. It's
just that it's really under two subheadings.

Gary:

It can't be the same task if it has two distinct wbs values; at least it
can't be seen by the system that way. It seems like you might be looking for
a hammock task. Give us the problem your trying to solve rather than a
solution.
