How can I stop Windows Installer popping up every time I run Office 2003 products

Every time I run an Office 2003 program I always get a windows installer box
that pops up.

I can exit the installer but it still takes a while for Word or any of the
other programs to run. Also if I let the installer run its course it appear
to install something successfully but it returns everything I close and open
a program again!

Has anyone else experienced this or know or a solution?

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks for sugguestion, unfortunatley this didn't solve the problem.

I saw a post on a website that mentioned disabling the installer but this
stops me from installing other programs.

Very confusing :-/

OFF2000: Windows Installer Appears Every Time a Program Is Started

SYMPTOMS
Each time you start an Office program, a dialog box for Windows Installer
appears with the following message:

Preparing to install...

This is followed by another dialog box, with the following message:

Please wait while Windows configures Office Edition

where Office Edition is the edition of Office that you have installed.
