I downloaded a template from Avery to make file labels and I need to know how
can I keep that same template duplicating?
The "templates" that you can download from Avery are not what Word
calls templates; they're just ordinary documents.
Download one copy of any of their templates. Open it in Word. Go to
File > Save As, and set the "Save as type" dropdown to "Word Template
(*.dot)". Notice that Word automatically switches to the Templates
folder (at least, it does that in Word 2003 and earlier, but not in
Word 2007, which I consider almost-a-bug). Click the Save button.
Close the document.
Now click File > New. Depending on the version of Word, this will open
either the New Document dialog directly or the New Document task pane.
If the task pane opens, click the "On my computer" link under
Templates. Select the template you just made, and you'll get a new
document that's a copy of the template. You can use File > New to make
new documents as often as you like, and each one will be empty of
text.
