How can i totally scrub my computer and start a fresh???

I have had my computer for several years now and it is getting clogged up
with viruses and programs. I would like to just totally scrub everything of
the the hard drive and re-install my Windows XP Home Edition. Does anyone
know exactly how i go about doing this?
