How can I update standard Project Fields from Project Web Access .

We are using a Project Web Access asp page to update the custom fields
available. My tech person says that it is not possible to directly populate
the standard MS Project fields such as Start and End Date, Resources etc from
the ASP page. It doesn't make sense that you could update custom fields but
not the standard ones. Is may tech's assertion correct? If not, how can the
standard fields be added to the ASP page?

If you are asking the the resource can adjust the start finish dates of tasks
they are assigned via the Tasks Page in Project Web Access, the answer is
no... not directly.

The purpose of project is for managers to plan and control a resources work
effort.

However, the resource can indirectly alter the task completion date by
entering thier actual hours and altering the "Remaining Hours" field.

Thanks for the reply, but that's not quite what I'm asking. We're capturing
most information in custom fields through an asp page was created to allow
web input without the need for our users to use MS Project. I'm not sure how
the page was created, Menu driven within the application vs. programmed,
probably the latter option. I just find it hard to believe that you could
update "Enterprise Outline Code 10" from the web page and not the Task Start
Date, a standard MS Project field.
