How can I use Project Professional with plans in Sharepoint?

I want to create a master file with a number of sub-projects and make it
accessible to a number of people. The individual sub-projects currently
reside in Sharepoint. We do not have Project Server installed so can only
use the features of stand-alone MS Project. Any suggestions most welcome.
