how can I view pictures sent in ppt on windows xp

is there a ppt update available as a result of purchasing this notebook
computer with windows xp on it in october 2004

It's a bit of a marketing mess from Microsoft, but basically "windows XP"
and "Office XP" are two different products. Read here for more details:
