How can I words to a slide during a presentation?

I want to be interactive during a presentation and need to know how I can
type information onto a slide while it is in presentation mode.

Hi Pastor,

If you are running the presentation using full dual screen mode (and not
using the presenter view) than you can edit the slide while it is being
displayed on the screen. In your current set-up, do you see on your screen
what the congregation sees on the projector, do you see a slide miniature
with advance and back buttons, or do you see the edit pane while they see
the show?

Also, it is always nice to know what version of PowerPoint you are running,
since there may be minor variations between some versions.
