How can I write on top of a paragraph?

Is there any way to stamp a word on top of a paragraph? I am trying to put
the word 'sold' on top of a paragraph in color.

In Microsoft Word, or what? Assuming you want to do this in Word and
you don't need 'sold' to be rotated from horizontal, you can type 'sold'
in a text box formatted with no fill, no line, and 'in front of text'
layout. Assuming you want to do this in Word and you need 'sold' to be
rotated to some funky angle relative to the paragraph it's on top of,
you can insert a WordArt object.
