How come I could copy slides from a protected Presentation?

The other day I tried to demonstrate that 2003 presentations which are
protected cannot be copied. I was confused to see that I was able to copy a
slide from a protected presentation on one PC but was unable to copy a slide
from a protected presentation on another PC? Does anyone know what happened
there. Could it really be that there are settings that still allow a
protected PowerPoint presentation to be copied?
