How can I create a formatted textbox in a powerpoint master to prevent format
changes when copying and pasting slides among .ppt-files that seem to have
the same master characteristics

So you need to "lock" the textbox or placeholder on the master slide?

I'm afraid that can't be done in PPT.

You can use "keep source formatting" when you copy/paste slides. You need to
be using PPT 2002 or 2003 for this feature, though.
