How Do Companies Consolidate Employee Contact Lists After a Merger or Acquisition?

Our company recently merged with another business that operates across multiple locations. Since both organizations had their own HR departments and communication systems, we are now facing difficulties maintaining a unified employee contact directory.

Before the merger, each branch maintained separate employee contacts in Outlook, Excel sheets, and mobile address books. During the integration process, different departments shared their contact information in VCF format.

Now, our IT team needs to combine hundreds of VCF files into one organized contact collection. The biggest challenge is that some employees have changed departments, several contacts are outdated, and the same employees appear in multiple branch contact lists.

We initially considered combining the files manually, but that would take considerable time. While looking for a practical solution, we came across Softaken Merge vCard Pro, which can combine multiple VCF files into a single file and allows users to preview contact information before merging.

We are considering using it for the initial contact consolidation, followed by a separate review to identify duplicate records and verify updated employee details with HR.

Has anyone managed employee contact migration across multiple branches after a merger? How did you handle duplicate contacts and outdated employee information without making the migration process complicated?
