How do delete extra spaces between words when justifying margins?

Scenario: I have a page of text created in Word 2002. I am using justified
margins. The last line of the one of the paragraphs has lots of extra
spacing between the words. The text looks like
this.

How do delete extra spaces between words when justifying margins?

End the paragraph with a paragraph break (Enter) instead of a line break
(Shift+Enter).
