How do I access a template quickly?

I have fashioned a template of the pasting of long complex documents from
scientific papers.

This involves page numbering and the use of 3 columns.

I have saved this formatting in the templates folder, but I want to know how
I can get a shortcut to this particular template on to the Word2000 menu bar
as an icon.

Can anyone point me in the right direction.

Hi Frank,

Record a macro of yourself accessing the template, then put an icon for the
macro on the toolbar. See these links for more details on how to do this,

Add the following macro, modified to include the name and path of your
template, to normal.dot and attach the macro to a toolbar button:

Sub MyNewDoc()
Documents.Add "C:\path\filename.dot"
End Sub
