Using "fn" (lower left of keyboard usually) and "F8" at the same time
switches between 3 modes, on laptop, on projector, and on laptop screen and
projector. I like the last one as I can face the screen to me and see what is
being projected with out looking at the screen.

The key combination depends on the laptop model.

Look for an icon on your F# buttons (usually the row above the row of
numbers above your actual keypad) that resembles a couple of monitors or a
screen or something. Then hold down your Fn (function) key and hit that F#
button.

You may have to hit the F# more than once to see the presentation on the
projector, as that key combination toggles between 3 different views: laptop
monitor only, laptop and projector both, projector only.

I think the key combos are Fn+F6 and Fn+F8 on the various laptops here at my
office. There may even be one that's Fn+F3, too.
