alright, im trying to finish a project for school but for some reason, i do
not have the list command in the data menu Excel XP.

i am basically trying to define a range as a list.

in order to do that, i have to go to the data menu, and click on List.

But LIST is not showing up in my data menu.

it says to right click, and click on List to activate the menu, but it aint
there.

I need HELP ASAP!

thanks.

I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to do, but try typing "Enter data in
a cell from a list you specify" in Excel Help - Answer Wizard and select
this topic.

The List command was introduced in Excel 2003, so you won't find it in
your version. There's information on the Microsoft site that describes
the new List features:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-ca/assistance/HA010982731033.aspx

You can probably complete most of the project with a regular table in
Excel 2002. Use Data>Filter>AutoFilter to create the dropdown lists at
the top of the table.

If you filter the list, then use the AutoSum button to create a total,
it will automatically create a SUBTOTAL formula, just as Excel 2003 does
in the list's Total row.
