How do I add a password feature

I have created a Front Page XP web site. I have an address directory that I
want password protected. What hardware, software, programming do I need to
add the USER ID and Password for the others that are to have access?

If your host supports subwebs with unique permissions, then
Password Protect Part of a Web:

If on a Windows server that supports Access database and ASP:
Protect individual pages:
