How do I add a situation for my class project?

I am using Project 2007 for my Project Management class to construct a
detached garage and an issue has arisen and I don't know how to add it, or
where to add it to. Please Help!

Here is the scenario:

The home owners just found out that they have to host a wedding shower
(their best friends are going to be married in two weeks). Thus, they need to
limit access to their house lot for one week (that is, no construction can go
on for a week) prior to the shower so it can be cleaned up and ready. Since
money for them is very tight with this project, they personally cannot afford
to have the shower somewhere else.

They know you are more than half way through the project plan at this point,
but since your construction firm was prepared for weather issues and it has
been unseasonable fine weather lately, the homeowners are asking you to see
what can be done to stay on schedule and within budget.

In your final paper and presentation, please explain to your management team
how you dealt with this unexpected change in scope.

Thanks.)

I have never used Project before. I am having a difficult time figuring this
out. I just need to know where to go to add this delay, and see the results
of the change. Thank you

You can split the tasks going on at this time and put a one week gap
in them. If the other tasks are linked correctly, the rest of the
project should self-adjust. If not, fix the links before you split the
tasks. (Make every task except the first and the last have at least
one predecessor and at least one successor.)

On a small project, it might not be much, but in reality, there is an
additional affect that some might overlook. When you stop a project
and restart it, there's always demobilization time and cost, and
remobilization time and cost. People don't just drop their tools,
whether they're hammers or computers, and walk away, then walk back up
and pick up exactly where they were a week earlier.

Hope this helps in your world.

His links answer that, I think.
