Hi Mary,
Thanks for your comment. I agree and would like to remove the music, but I
don't know how! I didn't add the music, it just started when I published the
website. Can you tell me how to turn off the music? Also, any idea on how I
add a counter to track visits to my site? Thanks, Helen

First the musac: Go to Tools > Web Page Options and delete the "file name"
under Background Sound. You may need to delete the sound file from your web
host space too. I concur...get rid of the musac...it is very annoying.

As per the counter, there are a zillion page counters scripts available.
Just Google for web counters, or hit counters, etc. and when you find the
code you want to use, then use the insert html code fragment feature in
Publisher to insert the code into your page.

Look to your webhost first...they may give you a counter script that you can
add to your home page. But also ask yourself if you really need a counter
showing on your home page. Some people feel it is almost as tacky as musac.
Plus your host will also likely provide in-depth webstats for your site that
will give you this information and more.

Who decides what is tacky. If you don't like the toilet seat up, put it down.
If you don't like the music, turn your speakers down or off.

The viewer decides what is tacky, and many if not most will leave a site
rather than being forced to listen to background music. Many will choose to
leave the toilet seat up, and move on.

The question is, given that background music will drive many viewers away
from your site, why would you want to use it?
