Adobe Acrobat 7.0.7 PDF Maker toolbars or dropdown menus do not work in
Office2003. All other parts of Acrobat do work
When I try COM Add-in as advised and try to add the
'PDFMakerOfficeAddin.dll' to the available add-ins list clicking the 'add'
button does not cause the add-in to appear in the list.
This appears to be a commonly discussed problem but no suggestions found
on
the web seem to work.
Any ideas.
As I have not yet received a reply, I am adding more information which may
be off assistance to any who can help:
Acrobat has been deactivated, reloaded and reactivated successfully. All
functions seem to work except Creating a PDF from an Office2003 file (any
type, doc, xls, ppt etc). Office has also been unloaded, registry cleaned
and reloaded apparently successfully. Acrobat toolbar and drop-down menus
are installed, though an error occurs during loading the Office application
stating that 'ActiveX component cannot create object'. . However,
attempting to use any of the toolbar/dropdown selections results in an error
message stating that 'PDFMaker Server cannot be installed'. It is possible
to generate a PDF file using the Print to Adobe PDF Printer method.
Various suggestions for attempting repairs as found on the web have been
tried and while all seem to execute successfully none correct the problem.
The exception to this is the correction method using the Tools Menu, COM
AddIn procedure, which does not work in so far as it does not place the
PDFMakerOfficeAddin.dll file into the available add-ins box. It does appear
to work with other add-ins, for example the recently released Reader Add-In.
The problem appears to be specific to Acrobat 7 PDF Maker and affects ALL
Office 2003 applications.
As before, any help or suggestions as to how to resolve this would be
appreciated.
Gerry Butler.
