How do I Archive Groove Items OR Create New Views?

David

Let's suppose we have a folder with a ton of resolved issues. I do not want
to have to keep looking at 101 resolved issues every time I click on the
Issues folder. Is there not a way to:

1. Create a view that only shows open issues?

2. Archive the closed issues to another folder? I've tried copying and
pasting resolved issues to another folder, but only one line can be copied
and pasted at a time and if there are 10 responses to an issue all the
responses are lost when the top issue is copied and pasted.

Thank You

You don't say what tool you are using, but if it is a Forms-based tool, you
can filter the view using this procedure:

1. On the View menu, click Go to Designer.
2. In the designer pane, under Views, click Create New View.
3. At the top of the pane, click to select Show Advanced Design Features.
4. Click the View Filter tab.
5. Select your forms, create the filter, click Apply filter, and then click
Save.
6. When prompted, click Publish Sandbox.

If it is not a Forms-based tool, I don't know of any way to filter the view.

Well, as I said, it depends on the tool. You can change the view in a number
of them -- all the ones that are based on Forms, as many Groove tools are.
And in the Files tool, for example, it would be easy to create an Archive
subfolder (or workspace!) and cut and paste files as a group. Since the
person asking said he couldn't do a group cut and paste, it seemed likely
that he was using a Forms-based tool.

Thanks Frances,

That answered my question perfectly, I was looking under the view menu to
find a way to create new views, I did not expect to find it under the
designer menu. As for which tool, since I mentioned the word "issues" about
10 times, I figured you'd guess ;-) :).

And you are quite right, for files I can simply drag them to an archive
folder.

Now if only I could add a design view to the files tool so that I could add
a note column to a file!

Thanks again.
