How do I arrange menu?

The "arrange" button is grayed out when I look at a menu of
the contents of a folder. I want to arrange this by name,
but it is in date order. How do I do it, please?

I suppose you're not particularly mentioning an Excel related problem, but
trying to rearrange a "Finder" folder. The "Arrange" item is grayed out when
the folder is not set as "Icon" view. If you are in "List" view, simply
click on the column header (ie "Name" or "Size")...
