How do I autoformat contact phone numbers in Outlook?

In my prior Outlook configuration (which somehow got lost,) any phone number
typed into a phone number field in a contact would be reformatted to (xxx)
xxx-xxxx. I'd like to get that functionality back, any ideas how?

What does that mean? How do you do it?

Depends on your operating system. In Windows XP, it's Control Panel > Phone
and Modem options...
