Bulk standardization/normalization of Oulook Phone numbers

Hope you are well... I have been searching online and in this forum to help
address a specific issue that just came up with outlook, but have not yet
found an answer.

I recently sync'ed my phone with outlook and for some reason, it converted
all of my Outlook contacts to xxxxxxxxxx. All new entries are populated in
the standard/correct (xxx)xxx-xxxx format; however, existing records were
populated without formatting. If I go into the contact and make a manual
change and then save, it will put the contract back into the (xxx)xxx-xxxx
format; however, it will be very difficult for me to go contact by contact
and "fix" these records.

Is there any way to do a bulk formatting or standardization change on these
records. Again, the issue is not with any new outlook contact - and I can
fix each one by going in and making an edit to the phone number... but I
just want to get all of my contacts back to the (xxx)xxx-xxxx format.

Thanks!

No, not with any option Outlook includes. You might be able to do it using
VBA. The VBA experts are

Thank you very much... its unfortunate - figured it would be something
outlook could do (normalize fields). Do you think there are software
programs that could do it for me?
