how do i automatically transit between slides in powerpoint?

please guys i need help on this one. i just got the 2007 office, and i cant
figure out how to automatically transit between slides. i choose to slide
automatically after, and i say 1 second, but it never works. it only works by
mouse click. anybody please......this presentation is crucial to me. thank u.

Two additions to Shyam's suggestion...
1) When you changed the transition time, did you also make sure the box for
automatically advance was checked?
2) When you set the transition and the timing, did you click the apply to
all slides button?
