How do I autonumber tasks in public folders in Outlook?

I am using Outlook, and am searching for a way to number tasks in a public
folder for ease of finding them. Is there some sort of autonumber function
that can be added in to the name of the task? I either want a way that I can
use a macro to find the last used number and increase by one, or an easy
function that can be inserted to number the tasks within a public folder.
Tasks within the public folder can be created by more than one person, so it
must also work from multiple work stations.
