I have a very simple question as a neophyte to Windows. How do I backup a
document to disc?

Ron -
Just a 3 1/2" floppy disc so I can give the document to someone else for
ongoing editing, etc. Thanks

Close the document in Word (this is important to prevent corrupting the
document). Then, open Windows Explorer (Start - Programs - Accessories -
Windows Explorer), and navigate to the file's location. Insert a floppy into
the A: drive. Use your mouse to drag a copy of the file to the A: drive.

Note: you should never use Word to work directly with a file that's stored
on a floppy. It's one of the quickest ways to corrupt a file and lose work.

Hope this helps...
