Outlook 98-2002 comes with the limitation of maximum 2 GB size to the PST. If
PST grows beyond this limit, it catches the risks of corruption. However,
this would be wise to split PST, before it could reach the stage of
corruption.

Stellar Phoenix Outlook PST Repair (Visit Here:
http://www.repair-outlook-pst.com/) gives you the ability to split PST into
few smaller ones. After the process, each of the PST part is available for
use with Outlook. Outlook can then get access to all the PST parts, with the
same efficiency; however, the risks of corruption are far away

Here you can also try Stellar PST File Splitter software which can Split Large PST File (above 2GB) into many small sized PST files on the basis of Date, Time, Email IDs & Folders.

You can reduce large pst file usiing following steps:

(A.) Compact PST File : Click on File -> Data File Management -> Choose personal folders (.pst) files to compact and click on 'Settings'.
Now click 'Compact Now', click OK and close.

(B.) Split PST File - This involves splitting .pst file into multiple small.pst files as per different criteria like date, time, email Id and folder size. This can be done using Kernel for Split PST software which can be found at http://www.splitpsttool.com/
