How do I calculate the midpoint date between two dates.

Can anyone help!

I have August 2006 (start) and August 2008 (end). I need the midpoint
between those two months and provided in QTR-YR.

Niek,

I just notice something, I inputted June 2006 and July 2007 and it gave me a
5-2006 midpoint? How did it get a 5th qtr??
