How do I cancel a Private Appointment?

I right clicked on an appointment in Calendar and selected 'Private'. how do
I undo this or delete the appointment?

Delete the appointment by deleting it.

Open it and uncheck Private to make it no longer Private.

Thanks, but perhaps I wasnt clear enough: once I clicked on Private, I was no
longer able to open the appointment or delete it.
I appreciate anyone's help.
