How do I cancel/adjust the "press ENTER to insert" command when I.

when you what? Sounds like you're getting an AutoComplete tip. Just keep
typing. Or, if you've typed a date and are trying to avoid having Word tack
on a date format you don't want, press Escape or type a space before
pressing Enter.

Thanks for your response.

The name of my company is "The XXXXXXXXX XXXX" and every time when "the" is
typed this long name shows and I am asked whether this very long name is to
be inserted. I am not sure how this long name got there anyway, but its is
very distracting. Can this name be removed from wherever?

Your company name is automatically entered as an AutoText entry. Go to
Insert | AutoText | AutoText, find the entry, and delete it.
