How do I cancel read only in database

I am using Learning to Pass ECDL Syllabus 4.0 and need to cancel a read only
item on the training disk, can you help.

Is this on a CD? Or from a CD? If so, copy to a folder on the hard drive and
change the file attributes from read-only.
